What is Shiatsu?
Shiatsu (literally meaning ‘finger pressure’) is a traditional Japanese massage therapy, beneficial for all aspects of well-being. Developed over hundreds of years to balance mind and body it can be both re-vitalising and deeply relaxing. It is different from other forms of massage in that it is practiced through clothing and uses a combination of massage, physiotherapy and acupressure techniques for the stimulation of blood and energy flow. Regular sessions can help prevent the build up of stress and tension patterns from the body thereby reducing the probability of illness and injury.
